ISLAMABAD: As three persons who had gone missing from the Sariab Road in Quetta were on Thursday produced before the Supreme Court, the apex court ordered their immediate release with directions not to arrest them again without the courtís permission. The court also ordered the suspension and jailing of the inspector general of police (IGP) and concerned superintendent of police (SP).
The missing persons told the court that they were kept at an unidentified place. The SC bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez, was hearing the case filed by the Balochistan High Court Bar Association (BHCBA) president regarding the murder of the wife and daughter of Mir Bakhtiar Domki in Karachi on February 6 and an appeal in the missing persons cases of Balochistan.
The released men were brought to the court after the chief justice expressed displeasure over the absence of inspector general of police (IGP), Balochistan, and directed the secretary establishment to suspend him. The court summoned the IGP Balochistan and concerned SP and SHO on Friday.
Earlier, the Supreme Court asked the Balochistan advocate general about the remaining four persons missing from the Sariab Road. The court also ordered sending the IGP and SP to jail and observed that Balochistan was burning while officials were sitting idle.
