KARACHI: Chief Meteorologist Mohammad Riaz has indicated on Tuesday that the Balochistan coastal belt is under a Tsunami threat.
While addressing a seminar arranged by Pakistan Fisher Folk Forum, he said that there are four plates in the Arabian Sea and one of them is just 50 km away from the coast of Makran.
He further disclosed that there was a quake measuring 8.3 on the Richter scale in this area earlier in 1945 and if such tremor hits the area again, it will bring a heavy destruction in Gwadar, Ormara and Pasni. He also warned that a quake as such would affect the coastal belt of Sindh province. SAMAA
