Baloch And Sindhi Community Protest On "Balochistan Occupation Day" In The Uk

Baloch and Sindhi gathered in front of BBC London to protest and commemorate the illegal occupation of the independent state of Balochistan on 27 March 1948.

London: A large number of Baloch and Sindhi activists gathered in front of BBC World service in London to protest and commemorate the illegal occupation of the independent state of Balochistan on 27 March 1948. The protesters were holding placards inscribed against Pakistan and Pakistani military, Human Rights Violations and demands for the immediate release of Baloch and Sindhi forced-disappeared political activists. They also chanted slogans against Iran and Pakistan and in favour of Baloch Sarmachaars and Baloch people's struggle for Independence.
Baloch leader Hyrbyair Marri, Samad Baloch of BHRC (UK) and Dr Lahku Luhana of World Sindhi Congress (UK) and Baloch intellectual & writer Dr Naseer Dashti were also present at the protest. Addressing the demonstration Hyrbyair Marri has said that they have gather in front of BBC World service to tell Britain and other democratic counties that Pakistan violated all international laws after one year of its independence when it occupied the sovereign state of Balochistan in 1948. He said the aim of today's protest was to tell the International Community including the UN that Balochistan is an occupied territory and should be recognised as an occupied country. Baloch are struggling to regain their Independence; Baloch struggle will continue until they achieve their goal of free Balochistan, he concluded.

2Samad Baloch Baloch, Abdullah Baloch, Raheem Baloch and Dr Lahku Luhana also addressed the gathering. They speeches were focused on Human Rights violations in Balochistan and Sindh. They said since the illegal and forceful occupation of Balochistan the state of Pakistan and Iran are continuously committing gross human right violation which they termed as the "slow but steady genocide of Baloch people". Abdullah Baloch of Zrombesh (Balochistan National Movement) said that Balochistan existed before Pakistan or Iran came into being. He said Baloch, Balochistan and Balochi were alive, are alive and will remain alive forever. Nobody can deny us our just and natural right to Independence, he said.

The protesters have handed a letter to BBC Urdu service and a copy of the letter has been sent to the British Prime Minister Mr Gordon Brown. Baloch activists from all over UK, and Ireland took part in the demonstration to record their anger and protest against Pakistan's illegal occupation of Baloch land. The organisers of the protest thanked all Baloch and Sindhi activists for taking part in the protest and for showing their support and solidarity with the people of Balochistan.

Protest report by SindhToday London, March 29 (ANI): Baloch and Sindhi activists here have demanded that Pakistan be declared a ‘terrorist state'.

A large number of people from the two communities converged in front of the BBC World Service office in London to protest and observe Pakistan's illegal occupation of the "independent state" of Balochistan on March 27, 1948, a day that has since been declared as ‘Black Day'.
