the Baloch people had refused to accept the aid of the federal government. The minister told the audience that it was for the very first time that the federal government was trying to solve the problems of the Baloch people and the people of Balochistan should take advantage of the situation.
Balochistan is heading towards a 'civil war' due to the activities of insurgents in the province and the failure of the federal government to control the law and order situation, Minister of State for Industries and Production Dr Ayatullah Durrani said on Thursday.
The minister made these remarks while addressing a conference titled, "Together for Consumer Rights" by the Pakistan
Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Durrani warned that if the high-ups of the federal government did not change their attitude, the situation would worsen, and the province would be on the brink of a civil war. He lamented that the law and order situation in Balochistan was worsening day by day and the Baloch people had refused to accept the aid of the federal government. The minister told the audience that it was for the very first time that the federal government was trying to solve the problems of the Baloch people and the people of Balochistan should take advantage of the situation. "We are appointing the local people as engineers, doctors and teachers. We are not appointing any outsider, and I request the Baloch people not to loose hope and obstruct the way of a civil war," Durrani said. The minister said that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP)-led government had allocated Rs 152 billion for Balochistan in a single fiscal year. mohammad zafar
