QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen murdered the son of National Party (NP) central leader Tufail Sabir in Khuzdar on Monday, police said. According to eyewitnesses, unidentified gunmen opened fire on Habibullah on Sultan Ahmed Road, killing him on the spot. The police shifted his body to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, one person was injured in Quetta when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Kashmirabad area of the city. Khudabakhsh Mastui was on his way to the mosque when he was attacked. He has been shifted to a local hospital.
According to official sources, two Levies personnel, identified as Karim Dad and Zahoor Ahmed were on their way home from Awaran Bazaar on a motorcycle, when unidentified men opened fire on them near the Pirnawa area of Awaran district.
Both the victims received multiple bullets and died on the spot. The assailants managed to flee. The bodies were taken to the Civil Hospital, Awaran, for autopsy.
Separately, a Frontier Corps official, identified as Naveed, was shot dead in Khuzdar district.
Two persons riding a motorcycle opened fire on him, killing him instantly. The official belonged to Sargodha. It could be a case of target killing, a senior police officer said.
