Extra judicial killings in Balochistan, Iran,

Balochistan Human Rights Group

This leaflet was distributed by BHRGs Co-Director, Mr. Mansoor bibak in the seminar on the minorities, Women and worker Human right situation in Iran. The seminar was organised on the 26 November 2014 at the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm.

In the recent years particularly since Rouhani’s presidency there has been an increasing in number of execution of Baloch people where just in the recent months there has an increased number of Baloch people who been killed in extra judicial killings by the security forces of Iran’s Regime. These killings have happened in different circumstances, for instance, people been walking on their way to works, or some coming back home, some were fired on while driving their car. Some of these attacks have happened while all the members of a family have been together in the car. Some cases of extra judicial killing in recent months are:

Ø On Wednesday 19 November 2014, Mohammad Faramarz Rigi, while working on his business was killed by a patrol of Iran security forces in the city of Khash.

Ø On Saturday 25 October 2014, Abdulah Khakizadeh Baloch, a 22 years old from Bandaran village near Sirek district was killed in the Sirek town by Coastal Guard’s fire, in a close range.

Ø On Wednesday 24 September 2014, Gholam Ghader Bohadorzahi, known as Abdulsatar, Son of Adam, from Hang Region of Sarbaz district was killed by direct fire of Mersad forces. He was shot on the throat and died on the spot.

Ø On Sunday 14 September 2014, Abdulnabi Jamalzahi was killed by security forces in the Dalgan district.

Ø On Thursday 11 September 2014, Abdulah Moradzahi and his family were on their way to back home after shopping, their car been targeted and intentionally fired by security forces in the middle of the road between Zahidan and Khash cities. In this incident Mr Moradzahi was killed on the spot and his wife and their 2 years old son were injured badly.

Extra-judicial killings have been a characteristic of Iranian state policy in national minority regions, especially in Balochistan. This was clearly stated by the head of Mersad, a paramilitary, who said: “We have not been given orders to arrest and hand over those who carry weapons. On the basis of a directive we have received, we will execute any bandits, wherever we capture them (Ettela’at, 25 February 1998)”.

Especially in recent years, extra-judicial and target killing of Baloch people have increased in number by Iranian regime’s security forces. Zahedanpress, an online news portal close to Iranian security forces in Balochistan revealed that on 2nd May 2012 the Iranian border Security police received a piece of information about the Knapsack Carrier entry point across the border, security forces of regime ambushed them by using heavy fire. Both were killed instantly. In this piece of news it is emphasized that Iranian security forces have the right training to be effective and deadly against the smugglers and rebels. The wording of this news is a clear indication of the regime’s policy, which was described by the head of the Mersad group in Balochistan, as fire to kill people at border whether they are sumgglers or ordinary people, it doesn’t matter.
