Balochistan People’s Party’s Condolence Message on the Passing of “Mama Qadeer” a Prominent Figure of Balochistan’s Civil Rights Struggle

Mama Qadeer has departed; yet not like those who leave and fade into silence, but like a mountain that settles into the earth, from whose collapse, thousands of springs of awakening begin to flow.

Mama Qadeer was among the most prominent founders and standard bearers of the Baloch nation’s civil rights movement in Eastern Balochistan.

He was a man who defined dignity not through slogans, but through lived suffering; through standing unarmed in the face of injustice and the military arsenal of the Pakistani army; and through an unwavering loyalty to humanity itself. He became the voice of fathers and mothers whose children disappeared into darkness, the voice of thousands of Baloch women and men whose names were recorded among the forcibly disappeared, yet whose dignity was never erased.

Balochistan, divided by borders drawn by British colonial design, bears the same wound inflicted upon Kurdistan, a historical wound that Mama Qadeer brought to the world’s conscience not with hatred, but with awareness, civil perseverance, and the demand for justice. His path was never the negation of others; it was the restoration of the human being to their rightful human place.

If today the young generation of Baloch has nurtured courageous and conscious civil leaders, from the martyred Karima Baloch, to Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Dr. Sabiha, and lionhearted women such as the Sammie and the Bibo, and ….it is because their roots draw strength from a tree watered with the heart’s blood and patience of leaders like Mama Qadeer, Gul Khan Naseer, Khair Bakhsh Marri, Ataullah Mengal, Akbar Bugti, and Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo.

Mama Qadeer taught us that justice knows no borders; and that the suffering of the Baloch people finds its meaning not in opposition to neighboring peoples; Persian, Punjabi, Pashtun, or any other nation, but in solidarity with all free human beings of the world.

He stood to declare that demanding one’s rights is not hostility toward any people; it is the defense of human dignity.

Today, although his steadfast stature is no longer among us, his path remains alive, in every mother who still waits for her enforced disappeard young ones, in every youth who believes in civil resistance, and in every conscience that refuses to accept silence in the face of injustice.

May his memory be honored, may his path be walked by many, and may his name remain eternal in the historical memory of the Baloch nation and in the awakened conscience of humanity.

With profound respect and heartfelt solidarity with his family, comrades, companions in struggle and sorrow, and the great Baloch nation.
