Human Rights, Regional Security And Perspectives For Balochistan And Pakistan Post 2014

The conference will consist of two panels: the first panel will aim to address the ongoing human rights violations, including enforced disappearances and the recent discovery of mass graves, in Balochistan. The second panel will seek to analyse the larger regional impact and security concerns related to recent developments in Balochistan.

The Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) will convene a conference entitled ‘Human Rights, Regional Security and Perspectives for Balochistan and Pakistan post-2014’ in Geneva on March 10th, during the 110th session of the United Nations Human Rights Committee.

The conference will consist of two panels: the first panel will aim to address the ongoing human rights violations, including enforced disappearances and the recent discovery of mass graves, in Balochistan. The second panel will seek to analyse the larger regional impact and security concerns related to recent developments in Balochistan.

Confirmed speakers include Mr. Tarek Fatah, a Canadian author, columnist and broadcaster; Mr. Paulo Casaca, former MEP and founder and executive director of the South Asia Democratic Forum; Mr. Russ Hiebert, Canadian MP; and Mr. Burzine K. Whagmar, Center for the Study of Pakistan, SOAS, University of London.
